Arun Kumar Sahu
Deputy High Commissioner of India to Canada
"Business Opportunites or Trade with India"
Arun Sahu joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1996. Prior to his arrival in Canada on 18 April, 2016, he was Joint Secretary (Director General) heading the division of Development Partnership Administration in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. Before that he was Deputy Director General, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi. He served as a Board Member on the US-India Educational Foundation from 2014 to 2016.
As a diplomat, he has served in Indian Embassy in Beijing twice (1998-2001 and 2010-2013), London (2004-2007) and Tehran (2007-2010). In New Delhi, as Under Secretary and Director, he has dealt with countries including China, Nepal and Bhutan.
He holds a Master’s degree in War in Modern World (WiMW) from King’s College London and a Master’s degree in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
